STAYING POSITIVE WITH HIV

Since I joined the field of pharmacy and 4life Transfer Factor, I've got many opportunities to meet numbers of people with different illness.

One of them is HIV.

I attribute this disease as something unique and need to be handled wisely.

Some patients that I met seemed to lost hope and give up life.  The most common factors which lead to this kind of feeling are being shunned by peers, family and the wider community, and also poor treatment in healthcare and education settings.

I realize that there are still high levels of stigma surrounding HIV which makes the patients depressed such as:

1) HIV/AIDS is a life-threatening disease, and therefore people react to it in strong ways.  My question is, isn't cancer life-threatening disease?  How about heart disease or renal failure? These are all life threatening diseases.  Should we discriminate these diseases too?

2)  Religious or moral beliefs lead some people to believe that being infected with HIV is the result of moral fault (such as promiscuity or 'deviant sex') that deserves to be punished.  My question is, who are we to judge them? We have no right to judge them because the cause of this epidemic varies and it could be many factors.

To me, being judgemental does not help the patients.  Instead, they really need good moral support.

Glancing through The Star last month, I admire the spirit shown by Norazatulshima in fighting HIV.

If I had the chance to meet her, I would be happier to share and explain the benefit of 4Life Transfer Factor as immune booster and HIV fighter.
